split/shift is proud to announce a significant milestone in its mission to cultivate grassroots culture: the organization has officially secured a physical home in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. Taking over a venue with deep-rooted history and cultural ties, split/shift is transforming the space into a community-led hub for music, arts, and collective experience.

The new space will serve as the permanent foundation for split/shift’s nonprofit mission, offering a dedicated environment for workshops, events, and gatherings designed to foster connection and creativity. By establishing a physical presence in one of the city’s most storied districts, split/shift aims to expand its programming and provide an accessible platform for local cultural expression.

“This space is a dream realized for us and the community,” said the split/shift team. “Securing a home in the Historic Third Ward, a neighborhood with such a rich creative legacy, allows us to truly unlock our full potential. It’s more than a building; it’s a collaborative environment where music, art, and ideas can intersect in a way that is impactful and rooted in shared purpose.”

This next chapter is built upon a foundation of local collaboration. split/shift continues to honor its ongoing partnership with Low Rain, whose early support through pop-up events helped shape the organization’s community-driven vision. The two will continue to collaborate on future events, maintaining a shared commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming environments.

“split/shift has always been aligned with our values at Low Rain,” said founder Daniell Sobelman. “We’re proud to support this transition into a permanent space where music and art can continue to bring people together.”

This next chapter is built upon a foundation of local collaboration, most notably through split/shift’s ongoing partnership with Low Rain. Having collaborated on past pop-up events at their location, Low Rain played a vital role in establishing the creative, community-driven atmosphere that split/shift is now bringing to its permanent home. This evolution also follows successful partnerships with Discourse Coffee, known for their avant-garde approach to craft beverages, and High Dive, a staple in Milwaukee’s nightlife community. Together, these collaborations remain central to split/shift’s identity as it transitions from a roaming series to a brick-and-mortar cultural institution.

While the space is secured, the work of building a community home continues. split/shift invites community members to support the development of the space and upcoming programming by making a donation at splitshift.fm/support.

Details regarding the official opening date and inaugural programming for the Third Ward space will be released in the coming weeks. For more information or to get involved, please visit splitshift.fm/about.
